Are you looking for holiday activity ideas to do for the festive season with your loved ones? Why not treat them to a ride in a hot air balloon from Air to Air Africa and get the opportunity to see the landscapes and enjoy panoramic views of the Cradle of Humankind, a well-known heritage site having held the famous discoveries of ancient fossils. Balloon flights in South Africa are quickly becoming a bucket list favourite for a lot of people so why not take advantage of what nature has to offer and come build up memorable experiences?

Air to Air Africa offers an outdoor adventure that needs to be experienced at least once in a lifetime. It is conveniently located west of Johannesburg and is perfectly situated in an area that hosts game and nature reserve. You don’t need a reason to ride in a hot air balloon; it is for any occasion and any season.

A ride in a hot air balloon starts very early in the morning as that is when the air is at its calmest. The air is also most stable at that time and the heat of the day has not come down to earth yet. At this time of the morning, thermals have not yet developed. Weather conditions also determine if it is safe to fly. The safety of our guests and crew is always number one priority.

It is essential to note what you should wear before you ride in a hot air balloon:

  1. Clothing should be layered, keeping in mind the early morning chill of dawn and the sunshine on landing.
  2. Walking shoes are a must as you will be landing in the fields and climbing into and out of the hot air balloon basket.
  3. Hats and caps are recommended as temperatures while the balloon heats up prior to take off can be a bit warm.
  4. Cameras with extra film and batteries plus binoculars may be brought on board. However, the pilot and crew do not take responsibility for any damages or loss of articles during or after the hot air balloon.

Included in your flight is an hour sunrise flight, sparkling wine and/or orange juice on landing, and a breakfast back at the venue and be awarded commemorative certificate. Another benefit of flying with Air to Air Africa is that you receive a 10% discount when you book online. This offer is open to everyone so take advantage of it.

Air to Air Africa also caters for corporate flights. Whether it’s a product launch, social event, client appreciation event, a team building excursion or even a birthday party, we are ready to make it a memorable experience. We have a 16-man balloon named Monster, one of the biggest hot air balloons in Africa which is our popular balloon to hire for corporate flights as it allows for the entire group to fly together. Should passengers exceed 16 people, we will be more than happy to fly two balloons simultaneously.
